LONG-TERM ACNE SOLUTION

The most commonly diagnosed skin disorder in the United States and the No. 1 reason for a patient's visit to a dermatologist -acne- can now have long term clearance with Smoothbeam laser treatment, according to a recent study published in The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. The study found a 75 % reduction in the number of acne lesions in all subjects after the final treatment, with significant improvement seen after the first laser treatment. Additionally, acne scarring was improved from 26 to 50% in all patients studied post treatment.

Free of the side effects often associated with topical and oral treatments such as Accutane, this study also found Smoothbeam laser treatments produced improvements in overall skin texture and quality of complexion.

The first FDA -approved laser for acne treatment, the Smoothbeam laser treatment targets the source of acne- overactive, oil-producing sebaceous glands. Smoothbeam emits a wavelength of light that generates heat in and around the sebaceous glans, altering the structure of the glands and thereby reducing the over-production of acne-causing sebum.

WHAT IS AGING?

Two more terms are used to further distinguish clients across the post-adolescent age span: chronological age versus functional age. Chronological age is the actual number of years of life, and functional age is the state of being along an age-time scale, but measured in terms of physiological vitality. We tend to estimate a person's actual (chronological) age based on esthetics. But, it is functional age that impresses us. Unfortunately, we often deny clients the benefit of their good functional age, because they look older than their actual age.
The major causes of aging are pretty simple to determine and avoid. They include sun exposure, environmental toxicity and alcoholism. We live under sunlight. We breathe carbon monoxide and ethanol daily. Although sunscreens can help us, they are not used religiously. Cigarette smoke plagues us and many of us overindulge with alcohol or even suffer from alcoholism. These elements affect us because of de choices we make. The obvious remedy is to just say "no"! Avoid them to stave off aging.
None of us are saints -we can't always avoid the sun, or environmental factors, or even the occasional drink- therefore it is necessary to find other solutions such as therapeutic remedies to help stop progressive and rapid skin damage. One such way would be to use the body's own circulation modalities, methods that will improve oxygen-dependent esthetics.

VACUMTERAPIA O TERAPIA SUBDERMICA
